HOW TO TRAVEL
Kozhikode is well connected by Air, Rail, and Bus. Kozhikode has an international airport with flights connecting to other major Indian cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi. Kozhikode also has excellent connectivity to major cities in the Middle East like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha, Bahrain, and Muscat. IIM Kozhikode is just 45 minutes by car from the International airport. Other airports nearby are Kannur International Airport (www. kannurairport.aero), 90 kms. away (3 hrs. by road) and Cochin International Airport (www.cial.aero), 170 kms. away (4 hrs. by road) with excellent connectivity to major cities in India and abroad. Kozhikode is connected by rail to major cities in India. Kozhikode can also be reached by trains from anywhere in India. It has very good train connectivity with Delhi/Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Trivandrum. There are also frequent bus services available from Bangalore.
TRAVEL AROUND
Kozhikode is a quaint little city on the west cost of India with a history of more than two thousand years. In ancient days, this city was a major port acting as the hub of trade between west and east. Greeks, Chinese and Arabs frequented Kozhikode to source the exotic spices like pepper and cardamom. Vasco Da Gama, the famous Portuguese sea farer touched Indian shores at Kozhikode in the year 1498 opening up a sea route top India for the European nations. Kozhikode can be considered as a hub from where to explore Kerala state which is a major tourism attraction. Forests, wildlife, backwater cruises, pristine beaches, exotic dance forms, verdant green mountains, spice trails, and a rich and varied cuisine – no wonder Kerala has earned the sobriquet 'God's own country'.
